(2) Elevators Project

Polk County Government is soliciting sealed bids for a turnkey replacement project involving the removal of two existing hydraulic passenger elevators and the installation of two new operational systems. The project covers two separate locations in Cedartown, Georgia: Elevator 1 at 144 West Avenue and Elevator 2 at 102 Prior Street. Both buildings are two-story structures that will remain occupied during the project. The scope of work includes all labor, materials, equipment, and permits required for the removal of old controllers, pump units, and wiring, as well as the installation of new cars, platforms, and emergency communication systems. A weight capacity of 2,000 lbs is required for Elevator 2 and is desired for Elevator 1. All work must comply with ASME A17.1, Georgia-adopted building fire codes, and regulations from the Georgia Office of the Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner. Sealed bids must be submitted to the Commissioners Office at 216 Main Street, Cedartown, GA, by 10:00 AM EST on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. The contract will be awarded to the bidder who best satisfies the requirements and serves the interests of the county. Selected contractors must provide payment and performance bonds equal to 100% of the awarded cost and maintain liability insurance with limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate. Additional submission requirements include a non-collusion affidavit, a S.A.V.E affidavit verifying legal residency or citizenship, and a drug-free workplace certification for any subcontractors. Bids are subject to disqualification for late submission, unbalanced pricing, or failure to comply with the request for bids.
