This solicitation seeks to procure 116 pedestal chairs designed for ships, identified by NSN 2090 00 368 4788, with specified upholstery colors of US-381 Mocha and a 26307 Gray frame. The order is split evenly, with 58 units destined for New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, and 58 for Tracy, California. The contract includes an option for 100% additional quantity, which may or may not be exercised based on the government's needs. Delivery terms specify FOB destination with inspection conducted upon receipt at the designated locations. While pricing is an important consideration, the final award will also take into account delivery timelines, past performance, and other evaluation criteria outlined in the solicitation. This procurement is unique in that the government lacks unrestricted technical data for the items and intends to contract only with approved sources under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1), yet all responsible sources are invited to submit offers for consideration. Offers must be submitted in writing to the Defense Supply Center Columbus by mail or fax, and potential contractors are encouraged to complete electronic representations and certifications through the Business Partner Network (ORCA) as mandated by recent regulatory updates. The solicitation documentation will become available starting March 21, 2008, on the Defense Internet Bid Board System (DIBBS) website, with additional instructions for submission and evaluation detailed therein.
