The City of La Cañada Flintridge is seeking qualified vendors to provide holiday tree lighting services for the 2024 season, with installation scheduled to begin in late October and lights to be illuminated by December 1, 2024. The scope includes procuring, installing, testing, and maintaining lights on various trees throughout the city, including median trees along Foothill Blvd, Angels Crest Hwy, and specific trees at Memorial Park and Town Center. The vendor must ensure comprehensive coverage, wrapping lights from at least 2 to 8 feet above ground depending on the tree type, and use green strands and extension cords, with all electrical connections secured with water-resistant tape. The project emphasizes safety, requiring the use of GFCI protection for workers during installation, especially since the median outlets are not GFCI protected. The vendor is responsible for all aspects of the project, including providing skilled labor, equipment, and materials, as well as ensuring the lights are operational during installation and remain visually appealing throughout the holiday season. The lights are to be installed approximately one week prior to December 1 and removed by the first week of January 2025, weather permitting. The contract details specify a response deadline of May 30, 2024, and point of contact information is provided for inquiries. Overall, the project aims to create a festive atmosphere with well-lit trees, maintaining safety standards and aesthetic quality throughout the holiday period.
