2026 Road Sand Supply & Calcium Chloride Mixing

The Municipal District of Bonnyville No. 87 is seeking a contractor for the supply, delivery, and conveyor stockpiling of 8,000 metric tonnes of Designation 5, Class 8 road sand mixed with a liquid calcium chloride solution. The project must be completed by October 31, 2026, with all activities taking place at the M.D. road sand tent located at 61330 Range Road 455, Bonnyville, Alberta. The contractor is responsible for all material testing, including one sieve analysis per 1,000 tonnes performed by a certified lab, and must provide documentation for the calcium chloride solution percentage and amount used. Payment is based on dry weights recorded at the M.D. scale, with invoices payable within 28 days of receipt. To be eligible, contractors must hold a valid COR or SECOR certification; active applications are not acceptable. Additional mandatory requirements include a current WCB Premium Rate Statement, a WCB Clearance Letter issued within 30 days, and the submission of hazard assessments and safe work procedures. Bidders must provide a bid bond or certified cheque equal to 10% of the tender amount and maintain comprehensive insurance, including third-party liability and non-owned automobile coverage of at least 2,000,000 dollars.
