27-003-MWA - Backhoe Trailer

The Macon Water Authority is soliciting sealed bids for the procurement of one new backhoe trailer, specifically a 2026/2027 Pitts Trailer TA20 or an approved equivalent. The required equipment must feature a 40,000 lb capacity at 55 MPH, dimensions of 102 inches wide by 30 feet long with a 16 foot concentrated load, and a tare weight of 7,600 lbs. Technical specifications include W14 by 22 pound A572 Gr. 50 high tensile steel construction, two 22,500 lb heavy duty axles with 49 inch spacing, eight 215/75x17.5 16 ply tires, an adjustable 4 position pintle eye hitch, 2 speed drop leg landing gear, eight bent D ring lash rings, and a fully sealed wiring harness with LED lights. Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes clearly marked as Bid Backhoe Trailer and delivered to Rhonda Smith at the Macon Water Authority, 790 Second Street, Macon, Georgia 31201, by 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, November 18, 2026. Public opening will occur at 2:00 PM that same day at 537 Hemlock Street. The Authority will evaluate awards based on price, reputation, financial responsibility, and experience, reserving the right to award to other than the lowest bidder to best serve its interests. Delivery must be FOB Destination to 1090 MLK Jr. Blvd, Macon, GA 31201, with the equipment ready for immediate use and accompanied by a Manufacturer's Statement of Origin free of all liens. Bidders offering equivalent products must provide the manufacturer's name, catalog number, and descriptive literature proving the product meets or exceeds the specified requirements.
