35--Cable television (CATV) wiring, internal and outside cable plant installed at Navy bases in San Diego

This is published as a Sole Source announcement in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. The NAICS code for this action is 334220.The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center (FISC) San Diego, CA intends to award a sole source contract to Americable International for wiring and internal and external cable plant installed at: Naval Station San Diego, Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, Naval Air Station North Island, Naval Submarine Base Point Loma, Fleet Anti-Submarine Warfare Training Center, Naval Medical Center San Diego, Naval Base Broadway, and Marine Corps Recruit Depot. The wiring and internal and cable plant were installed under Contract N00244-05-C-0073 and predecessor contracts by Americable International. Since Americable International is the only source of cable wiring needed to permit timely transition to the follow-on CATV provider, this purchase will secure continuity of service to support quality of life enhancement to service members living on Base, and for Operatio! nal units that rely on news and other information for accomplishment of their missions. The proposed contract action is for commercial supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all correspondence received no later than February 26, 2007. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
