The U.S. Army Robert Morris Acquisition Center intends to award a sole source contract to SFA Frederick Manufacturing Division for the procurement of a Containerized Batch Laundry (CBL) System. This decision is based on the determination that SFA Frederick Manufacturing Division is the only responsible source capable of meeting agency requirements, which will prevent the duplication of research and development and accelerate the fielding of the system. The CBL is an integrated laundry solution designed to handle collection, sorting, folding, and distribution with a minimum processing capacity of 150 pounds of laundry per hour. The system must be housed within a standard 20 by 8 by 8 foot ISO container to ensure transportability by sea, air, or land, and must be operational in extreme temperatures ranging from minus 25 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Key technical requirements include an integrated water heater and a water reuse system capable of recycling at least 25 percent of wastewater. The unit is designed to be operated and maintained by specific military personnel and must be fully storable within its container.
