This project consists of removing an existing 12” water line and a 15” sanitary line out of the existing 36” storm sewer. To remove the existing 12” water line from the storm sewer it will need to be lowered under the storm sewer. It will need to be lowered roughly 5 feet. To remove the existing 15” out of the storm sewer the manholes on both ends will need to be lowered. The existing manholes will be removed, and the new manholes will be roughly 3 feet lower than the existing ones. There will be a new 18” sanitary sewer that is ran from the two new manholes that goes under the existing storm sewer, that is 408 LF. This project will also include attaching all other existing lines to the new manholes. The south manhole will also need a 58 LF of 18” sanitary sewer to be attached to the existing pipe that is to southeast.
The work also includes all labor, equipment, traffic control, pavement saw cutting, incidental excavation, disposal of removed materials, pavement restoration immediately surrounding the structures, and all other work necessary to complete the adjustments. Upon completion, all manholes shall provide a smooth riding surface, be free from movement or rocking, and meet the required line and grade tolerances established by the Engineer.
Bidders are advised to pay close attention to the specific details of the Supplemental Specifications and Pay Item Descriptions. Item descriptions detail all that is included with each pay item as well as pay limits for certain items.
During construction, maintenance of traffic and access to local businesses and residences will be major concerns for the City, Contractor, and adjacent property owners.
This project is located within the City of Findlay corporation limits and is thereby eligible for City Income Tax collection. The project is funded by City of Findlay local funds. Bidders shall be aware of any required Equal Employment Opportunity requirements as well as the State prevailing wages that apply to this project. Domestic steel use requirements also apply to this project as specified in Section 153.011 of the Ohio Revised Code. A copy of Section 153.011 can be obtained from any office of the Ohio Department of Administrative Services. After the bid date, contracts will be awarded as soon as possible in order to expedite securing materials and beginning construction.
