38--NKAO - Long Reach Hydraulic Excavator

The Department of the Interior, through the Bureau of Reclamation's Great Plains Regional Office, has issued a Sources Sought Notice for market research to procure one new Long Reach Hydraulic Excavator. The equipment will be utilized in McCook, Nebraska, for river operations, sediment removal, drainage and canal maintenance, and other water resource infrastructure activities. The required machine must be a commercially available production model with an operating weight between 63,500 and 70,000 pounds, a minimum ground line reach of 59.5 feet, and an EPA Tier 4 Final diesel engine with at least 180 horsepower. Additional technical requirements include a two-pump hydraulic system with a minimum of 5,000 psi, a 1-cubic-yard pin-on ditching bucket, and an enclosed cab equipped with climate control, LED lighting, and a camera system providing at least a 270-degree view. Preferred models include the Caterpillar 326, Case CX260E LR, or John Deere 250 P. Interested businesses must submit a capability statement of no more than two single-sided pages by 2:00pm MT on July 15, 2026. This submission must include company contact information, Unique Entity ID, primary NAICS code, business size, socioeconomic status, and confirmation of active SAM.gov registration. The statement should also demonstrate relevant skills and past performance from the last three years. A critical requirement for the eventual award is the availability of dealer support, including parts, warranty, and factory-trained field service, within 75 road miles of McCook, Nebraska. The anticipated period of performance is six months from the date of contract award to final delivery.
