38--NKAO - Long Reach Hydraulic Excavator

The Bureau of Reclamation, through the Great Plains Regional Office of the Department of the Interior, is conducting market research to determine the availability of commercially viable long reach hydraulic excavators for use in canal maintenance, drainage maintenance, sediment removal, river operations, and related water resource infrastructure activities. This effort, identified under solicitation number 140R6026R0018 and classified under NAICS code 333120, is a sources sought notice issued under FAR Part 10 for planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or commitment to award a contract. The requirement is for one new long reach hydraulic excavator that must be a commercially available production model with a factory-installed long reach boom and stick assembly, a minimum ground line reach of 59.5 feet, an operating weight between 63,500 and 70,000 pounds, and a diesel engine meeting EPA Tier 4 Final standards with at least 180 horsepower. The machine must be equipped with a two-pump hydraulic system operating at a minimum of 5,000 psi, a one-cubic-yard pin-on ditching bucket, an enclosed cab with air conditioning, heating, a radio, and a heated air suspension seat, as well as LED lighting and an integrated camera system providing a minimum 270-degree view. Preferred models include the Caterpillar 326 Long Reach Excavator, Case CX260E LR Long Reach Excavator, and John Deere 250 P Long Reach Excavator, though equivalent models will be considered.
