NASA/GSFC/WFF has a requirement for a RAE Rapid Deployment System with a wirelessinterface. NASA/GSFC/WFF intends to purchase the system from RAE Systems, Inc. in accordance with6.302-1(a)(1)10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) - only one responsible source and no other supplies orservices will satisfy agency requirements. The Government currently owns two existingArea RAE units that will be incorporated into this deployment system. The RAE RapidDeployment System is the only system compatible with the existing units. Authority forsoliciting this system soley can be found in FAR 13.106 - supplies or services determinedto be reasonably available from only one source. The Government intends to acquire acommercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon July 20, 2009. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis.
