The Department of Veterans Affairs, through Network Contract Office 22, issued solicitation 36C26223Q0413 for the procurement of 67 brand-name MSA Millennium Gas Masks and carrying pouches for the Police and Security Department of the Greater Los Angeles VA Healthcare System. This firm-fixed-price acquisition was designated as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business set-aside under NAICS code 339113. A single-source justification was utilized to ensure brand consistency with existing equipment, thereby eliminating the need for additional staff training, new fit testing, and the stocking of multiple filter types. Throughout the solicitation process, two amendments were issued to provide a memorandum of justification, answer vendor inquiries regarding pouch specifications, revise item descriptions for items 0003 and 0004, and extend the response deadline to January 19, 2023. The contract was ultimately awarded on January 24, 2023, to ION HOLDINGS LLC for a total amount of 42,444.50 dollars.
