AI Contract Overview

This is a firm-fixed-price, sole-source contract awarded to Curtiss-Wright Electro-Mechanical Corp under the Advanced Equipment Repair Program for the refurbishment of a compressor unit. The requirement is designated as sole-source because the government does not own the necessary technical data and reverse engineering is deemed uneconomical. The contractor is required to perform a teardown and evaluation of carcasses within 120 days to provide a final firm-fixed-price proposal, though initial submissions are accepted as estimated not-to-exceed prices. Key performance terms include strict adherence to required turnaround times, with failure to meet these deadlines resulting in specific price reductions per unit. The contract mandates that the offeror maintain a U.S. security clearance of Confidential or higher and comply with various federal regulations, including Buy American and Small Business Subcontracting plans. All transportation to and from the repair site is funded by the U.S. Navy, and the final delivery date for the requirement is set for February 12, 2023.
