AI Contract Overview

The contract involves the supply of 30 surface-applied tactile domes designed to meet ADA regulations for curb ramp warning surfaces. The domes are raised truncated shapes with specific dimensions, including a diameter of approximately 0.9 inches, a height of 0.2 inches, and a center-to-center spacing ranging from 1.6 to 2.4 inches. The tactile panels measuring 24 by 60 inches are constructed from a durable, colorfast, UV-stable fiberglass and carbon-reinforced composite, with all edges beveled and pre-formed fastener locations for secure installation. The domes themselves are reinforced with fiberglass for added durability, and the panels are uniformly colored throughout without reliance on surface coatings. Installation requires specific fasteners—¼ inch by 1½ inch composite sleeve anchors with stainless steel pins—along with a structural polyether adhesive and a sealant such as BASF MasterSeal NP1 or Sikaflex 1A to ensure proper adhesion and weatherproofing. The tactile panels are covered by a seven-year warranty against breakage and deformation, ensuring long-term performance. The project does not require a site visit and is managed under a solicitation posted by the Raleigh Durham Airport Authority, with a response deadline of May 6, 2025, and a contract value estimated between $50,000 and $100,000.
