The U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDEC) Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division, intends to award a sole source purchase order to Door Specialties Inc. for the replacement of 95 door knob assemblies that include a one-year warranty on standard door hardware and a two-year warranty covering parts, labor, and travel. Door Specialties has established experience supporting Department of Defense facilities such as Fort Rucker and USACRC buildings, offering continuity and efficiency in maintenance by serving as a single vendor. Although other suppliers may be available, the government deems it most effective to maintain one contract for support services with Door Specialties due to their proven performance and presence. Interested firms capable of fulfilling this requirement are invited to submit written notifications within five days of this notice, providing detailed evidence of their qualifications limited to two pages. The government retains discretion to evaluate any responses and decide whether to proceed with competitive procurement; however, if no responses are received, the sole source award to Door Specialties will move forward. This procurement will be conducted as a firm fixed price purchase order under solicitation number W31BNA-2010-1014, with no solicitation document issued. Questions regarding the acquisition are to be directed to the contracting officer, Mr. Matthew Buchanan. The synopsis of this acquisition opportunity expires on April 26, 2010, at 8:00 a.m.
