The United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) plans to modify Contract Number F61521-01-D-5000 with BCM Electronics through a non-competitive, sole-source action. This modification will extend the contract’s period of performance by an additional 12 months, divided into two six-month option periods, extending through September 30, 2005. The primary purpose is to maintain the existing legacy equipment while transitioning to new equipment, ensuring continuity of operations and allowing the government to better assess workload requirements for the forthcoming procurement of new systems under a separate contract. This extension is authorized under 10 USC 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, which permit sole-source justification when only one source is capable of providing the required services. No formal solicitation will be issued for this contract modification, and the government anticipates finalizing the action by June 11, 2004. The contract supports LMR (Land Mobile Radio) maintenance and repair services in Zone 1, covering regions in Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. The primary point of contact for this effort is Doris M Dollitz, reachable via email. This extension is critical to ensure effective maintenance support as the new equipment is phased in, minimizing operational disruption and allowing for accurate future planning.

United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) intends to modify Contract Number F61521-01-D-5000, with BCM Electronics on a non-competitive basis. The purpose of the modification is to extend the period of performance of the current contract for 12 months at two six month options through 30 Sep 05. Under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, this contract action is contemplated to be sole source to provide cross-over maintenance of the old equipment as the new equipment phases in, as well as to allow the government to establish more accurate workload estimates for the new equipment to be procured under a new contract. No formal solicitation is available. The Government anticipates a modification not later than 11 June 2004.
