The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service (NESDIS) has a requirement for the procurement of Multifunctional Demodulators capable of supporting the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites (GOES). The procurement will be a two phase process. The goal of phase one will be to select a demodulator and obtain three units for extended parallel operations with the existing GOES demodulators at the Wallops Command Data Acquisition (CDA) facility. Successful parallel testing will initiate phase two, the procurement of thirty three additional units. In the event that the phase one parallel testing of the demodulators reveals any issues that suggest noncompliance with the specifications, NOAA retains the right to either work with the contractor to bring all issues into compliance in a reasonable amount of time, or return to the selection process of phase one. The applicable NAICS number is 334290 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. This requirement is unrestricted. The solicitation, notice and all amendments will be posted and available for viewing and downloading on the Government Electronic Posting System (FedBizOpps) site at www.fedbizopps/. When the solicitation is posted, it is incumbent upon the interested parties to review this site frequently for any updates/amendments to any and all documents. The solicitation will be issued as a commercial item acquisition on or about March 9, 2006, utilizing simplified acquisition procedures. To be eligible for award, offerors must have a valid DUNS Number and be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database.
