Description of Requirement: This synopsis is not a request for quotes or proposals. This is a pre-solicitation notice that a solicitation is scheduled to be released via FedBizOpps (www.fbo.gov) in the near future detailing requirements for Passive Integrated Transponder (PIT) Tags. The PIT Tags needed are glass-encapsulated electronic devices measuring approximately 12-12.5 mm long by 2.0- 2.1 mm in diameter. The tag can be coded with one of 35 billion unique codes. As the tagged fish migrates through the hydro system, it passes though electronic interrogation coils established at juvenile detection sites located at federal dams in the Columbia River Basin and other rivers, streams, adult ladders, etc. Each PIT tag must provide the necessary readability, reliability, high performance standard, and unique codes designed for all detection devices in the Columbia River Basin. Each tag must satisfy the Corps's requirements without requiring major purchases of new receiver equipment (134 -136 kHz range) or compromised reliability. This announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract.
