The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, is seeking to procure 40 amplifiers (JCA Technology, Inc., P/N JCA23-445) specifically for the National Weather Service to replenish their National Reconditioning Center repair stock. These amplifiers are critical components used in repairing the RF and STALO filters within the Nexrad Weather Radar Receiver's RF generator. Due to the unique specifications and the requirement for compatibility with the current Nexrad program, only the original manufacturer, JCA Technology, Inc., is authorized to supply this part, and no alternate or similar items will be accepted without extensive testing. This procurement will be conducted under the simplified acquisition procedures of FAR Part 13 and the authority of 41 USC 253 (c)(1), focusing on sole-source acquisition since only one known manufacturer exists. The agency reserves the right to either issue a purchase order directly to JCA Technology or to proceed with competitive bidding based on responses received.
