AI Contract Overview

The contract involves the procurement of 84 units of a specific electronic component identified by NSN 7H-5998-012394130, with delivery FOB origin. The government does not possess the data or rights necessary to purchase or repair this part from other sources, as acquiring such data is deemed uneconomical, and reverse engineering is also considered impractical. The solicitation emphasizes that only one source will be considered under FAR 6.302-1, although other responsible firms may express their interest and capability to respond within 45 days of the notice. Interested parties are instructed to include their Cage Code in requests and can access relevant military and federal specifications, standards, and other documents through the DoD Single Stock Point (DODSSP) or ASSIST-Online, with options for downloading or ordering hard copies. The government’s intent is to negotiate directly with a single source, and this notice does not constitute a competitive solicitation, though responses may influence future procurement decisions. The contract is managed by the Department of Defense, specifically the Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, with a designated point of contact for inquiries.
