This is a notice of intent from the Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division to issue a Firm Fixed Price Simplified Acquisition Purchase (SAP) Order, on an other than full and open competition basis to Hamamatsu Corporation, 360 Foothill Road, P.O. Box 6910, Bridgewater, NJ 08807-0910. This order is for the purchase of the following equipment: six (6) ultra bialkali (UBA) photocathode photomultiplier tubes (PMTs), two (2) gated PMT modules, one (1) gateable MCP-PMT with multialkali photocathode, and two (2) high speed PMT modules. This equipment is being procured for the NAVAIR 4.5 Avionics Division. The listed upgraded components are compatible and interchangeable with existing equipment. In addition, the tubes have a unique metal channel dynode structure that provides a compact package, high dynamic range, high bandwidth, and the ability to turn the detector on and off quickly. This dynode structure is unique to Hamamatsu Corporation. Any contractor believing that they have a product that can meet these performance characteristics should send a capability statement to the individual identified below by 29 August 2007.
