The Drug Enforcement Administration intends to award a contract to Radio Reconnaissance Technologies, Inc. for the procurement of NEMO systems, which are specialized devices designed to measure and map the air interface of multiple wireless network protocols simultaneously, including GSM, CDMA, and iDEN. These ruggedized, containerized systems are specifically developed for field deployment by law enforcement and fully comply with the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA). The DEA has identified Radio Reconnaissance Technologies as the sole responsible source capable of fulfilling these unique requirements, given that no other equipment on the market provides the combined functionality and durability needed for their over-the-air operations. This contract notification is made in accordance with federal regulations to inform the public of proposed contract actions exceeding $25,000. The acquisition supports DEA operational needs by ensuring access to this specialized technology for wireless surveillance activities. The contract falls under the Department of Justice, with the office located in Springfield, VA, and the primary point of contact is Troy T Teachey. The solicitation was posted in August 2007 and highlights the exclusivity of the source due to the distinct capabilities of the Radio Reconnaissance Technologies’ NEMO system.

Further it is compliant with Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement (CALEA)Radio Reconnaissance Technologies, Inc. RRT builds the unit into a tough, rugged, containerized system which is designed for deployment by law enforcement units. Research has determined that there is no other ruggedized system which measures all three protocols. As a result Radio Reconnaissance Technologies, Inc is the only responsible source to systems to meet DEA requirements.
