The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport is seeking proposals under RFQ N66604-13-Q-1035 for the purchase of semiconductor wafer material with deposited epitaxial layers featuring double quantum well active layers. These materials will be used to fabricate prototype semiconductor gain chips operating at 1319nm. The requirement includes a base quantity of six wafers with two options for three additional wafers each. Technical specifications require wafer sizes of 2 to 3 inches, surface defect density under 10 micron squared, and specific performance parameters for Ridgwaveguide lasers, including a maximum power greater than 300mW and a lasing wavelength of 1310nm plus or minus 10nm. This is an unrestricted procurement under NAICS Code 334413, anticipated as a firm fixed price purchase order. While InPact is identified as the only known source capable of meeting the photonic output requirements, all timely offers containing complete specifications and pricing will be considered. Eligible contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management. Proposals must include a Cage Code and DUNS number and be submitted to the Commercial Acquisition office in Newport, Rhode Island. The required delivery timeframe is six weeks after receipt of order.
