The US Army Space and Missile Defense Command plans to increase the ceiling on an existing contract with Raytheon Company, based in Andover, MA, through a sole source negotiation. This contract modification will add a new line item to the current cost-plus-fixed-fee contract (W9113M-08-C-0153) to support Legacy RAID RESET services for a range of RAID Tower and Aerostat systems, expanding from RAID III to RAID 07 systems. The decision to continue work with Raytheon is based on the necessity to avoid unacceptable delays and significant costs that would arise if the contract were awarded to another source. The additional funding will cover work scheduled through June 30, 2010. This acquisition is restricted to Raytheon under FAR 6.302-1 authority and is not open to competition or foreign firms. This notice, issued on July 7, 2009, serves purely to inform interested parties of the intent to sole source and is not a solicitation or request for proposals, nor are any solicitation documents available. Interested parties are instructed to direct any submissions to Elbert Clarke within 15 days of the notice date, no later than July 21, 2009, and telephone inquiries will not be entertained. The contract supports the Department of Defense’s ongoing operational requirements for its space and missile defense systems managed by the RAID Product Office at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.
