The Department of Veterans Affairs Boston Healthcare System intends to award a sole source, indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract to Beckman Coulter Genomics Inc. for high throughput DNA extraction kits. These kits, specifically the AgenCourt GenFind V2, are required to operate with two existing Biomek NXP multichannel single arm system liquid handlers already owned and serviced by the facility. The government anticipates a contract structure including four option years, citing that only the proposed vendor possesses the necessary capabilities to ensure the reagents function with the current calibrated and programmed machinery. This action is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1. While the government intends to negotiate exclusively with Beckman Coulter, other companies capable of providing an equal product may submit technical specifications, past performance data, pricing, and delivery timelines for consideration in future requirements. All such statements must be submitted via email by November 16, 2011.
