The Department of the Army, Healthcare Acquisition Activity-North plans to enter into a sole source commercial item procurement with AlterG for the purchase of the M320 Anti Gravity Treadmill. This procurement includes the treadmill itself along with two pairs of standard shorts in sizes small, medium, large, and extra large. The government intends to negotiate exclusively with AlterG under the authority of FAR 6.302, as AlterG is the sole provider of this specific technology. Interested parties may express their capability to meet the requirement by a specified deadline, but this notice does not serve as an invitation for competitive quotes. AlterG's anti-gravity treadmill technology, originally developed at NASA and further refined by AlterG, features a unique advanced pressure regulation system that allows users to reduce effective body weight by up to 80%, in increments as small as 1%. The treadmill provides a stress-reducing environment for patients undergoing rehabilitation by facilitating exercise with minimal impact on healing muscles, tendons, and hips. It supports a full range of motion, ensures lateral stability to prevent falls, and is particularly suited for patients recovering from lower extremity injuries. AlterG holds exclusive patents on this technology, justifying the sole source procurement.
