The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), through its Strategic Acquisition Center, has organized an Industry Day event scheduled for April 5-7, 2016, at its facility in Fredericksburg, VA, focused on Video Magnification Devices and Closed Circuit Televisions used by the Veterans Health Administration's Prosthetic Sensory Aids Service. This event aims to facilitate an exchange of information between the government and industry representatives, allowing manufacturers, distributors, and subject matter experts to demonstrate cutting-edge video magnification technologies and gather feedback to better understand industry capabilities and refine government requirements. The Industry Day will include hands-on evaluations critical for assessing new technologies and understanding user experiences, particularly for blind and low-vision veterans. Participants are expected to bring their own video magnification equipment, relevant technical materials, and necessary accessories such as power strips and extension cords. The event will provide vendors with a dedicated table and seating but will not reimburse travel or expenses, nor provide projectors. Presentations are strictly timed, with sessions lasting 60 to 90 minutes for each vendor to showcase products and answer questions. Each company is limited to two representatives, and registration is required by March 18, 2016, on a first-come, first-served basis. While this Industry Day serves informational purposes and does not constitute a solicitation for bids or proposals, it offers a valuable opportunity for potential contractors to engage directly with the VA, gather insights, and prepare for future procurement opportunities related to sensory aid video magnification devices.
