The purpose of this amendment is to provide a more detailed description for the sole source requirement: The TRELLCHEM EVO Level B Demil Suit Ensembles are pressurized suits to be used for operations involving the demilitarization of leaking chemical munitions. Interested parties with questions or comments regarding this notice or the planned procurement should be emailed to Debra Elmore-Harrell at contact@example.gov by 3PM EST on 26 August 2014. Telephonic inquiries will not be accepted. The purpose of this amendment is to revise the sole source award requirement description from TRELLCHEM HPS Level B Demil Suit Ensembles to TRELLCHEM EVO Level B Demil Suit Ensembles. Ansell Protective Products, Inc. is the only manufacturer of the TRELLCHEM-EVO Level B Demil Suit Ensembles. U.S Army Contracting Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD (ACC-APG) intends to award a sole source contract to Ansell Protective Products, Inc., located at 333 George Washington Highway, Unit C, Smithfield, RI 02917-1948. Ansell Protective Products, Inc. shall provide 100 TRELLCHEM-HPS Level B Demil Suit Ensembles in various sizes. Ansell Protective Products, Inc. is the manufacturer of the TRELLCHEM-HPS Level B Demil Suit Ensemble. The TRELLCHEM-HPS Level B Demil Suit Ensembles are proprietary items, designed specifically for the Department of the Army's Chemical Surety Material Demil operations, and are only available directly from the manufacturer. The NAICS code for this requirement is 339113 and size standard of 500 employees. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is implemented by FAR 6.302-1 - Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This synopsis neither constitutes a Request for Proposal, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach.
