The Department of Veterans Affairs, through the VISN 02 Network Contracting Office 2, is announcing its intent to award a non-competitive contract to Abbott Laboratories for the supply of Drug Eluting and Bare Metal Stents in various sizes. This announcement serves as a notice of intent to sole source and is not a solicitation for proposals or quotes. Abbott Laboratories has been identified as the only responsible source capable of fulfilling this requirement, as per relevant Federal Acquisition Regulations. The procurement will be conducted under the mandatory national Strategic Acquisition Center contract, ensuring a consistent and reliable supply of these medical devices to support patient care at the VA Medical Center in Albany, NY. The contract involves establishing a consignment agreement with Abbott Laboratories to guarantee an ongoing availability of stents within the Buffalo VA Medical Center. The diverse sizes and types stocked will optimize inventory turnover and minimize waste due to product expiration. This sole source procurement falls under the NAICS code 339113 for Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing and follows the regulations in FAR Parts 12 and 16. No funds have yet been authorized or appropriated, and responses to this announcement are for informational purposes only, with no entitlement to payment.
