The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 7, Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, SC, plans to award a sole source contract to Karl Storz Endoscopy-America, Inc. to upgrade the video and control systems in all six operating rooms. The comprehensive upgrade includes a 16x16 full matrix digital core router with support for multiple medical video formats and 4K display compatibility, amplified audio with echo cancellation, ceiling-mounted speakers, and integrated WHO checklist functions for surgical safety. Each operating room will feature multiple high-definition touch panel controllers and surgical displays, including large wall-mounted screens. Installation, cabling, and project management services are included, along with a one-year warranty and online training for clinical staff. This acquisition is being processed under FAR Part 12 commercial procedures with no set-aside restrictions, and potential interested parties may submit capability statements by the specified deadline for the government's consideration.
