VISN 23 is seeking the procurement and replacement of laparoscopic surgical systems across six VA medical centers located in South Dakota, Iowa, North Dakota, and Nebraska. The project involves a total of 21 systems distributed among the Black Hills, Central Iowa, Fargo, Iowa City, Nebraska Western Iowa, and Sioux Falls facilities. While some locations require full setups including monitors and carts, others will utilize existing articulating arms. The required systems must be high-definition and offer universal capability for various procedures, including bronchoscopy, laparoscopy, arthroscopy, urology, ENT, and GI, while maintaining backward compatibility with existing scopes and cameras. The scope of supply includes HD video processors, light sources, insufflation units, various telescopes, and specialized trays. To offset costs, the medical centers are offering trade-ins of existing equipment, which vendors must account for as separate line items in their bids. Additionally, the selected vendor is responsible for providing comprehensive training services, including quarterly in-service training for medical staff, technical training for biomedical engineering and sterile processing personnel, and access to a complimentary 24-hour consultation hotline.
