AI Contract Overview

The Southern Regional Contracting Office at Brooke Army Medical Center has awarded a sole source contract to IQuum for the procurement of Influenza A/B reagent kits and consumables. This acquisition is executed as a firm fixed price purchase order to support the AMEDD Center and School in its role as the multiservice training center for the Department of Defense. These specific materials are required for testing biological samples using the Liat analyzer, which is a critical component of NGDS laboratory test and evaluation. This procurement was conducted without competitive bidding under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) and the Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The justification for the sole source award is based on the fact that IQuum is the exclusive manufacturer of the Liat analyzer and its associated hardware, software, and test kits. Because only IQuum products are validated and FDA cleared for use with this specific analyzer system, no other sources are reasonably available to meet the technical requirements of the mission.
