AI Contract Overview

The Department of Veterans Affairs NCO-9 intends to issue a sole source, firm-fixed price delivery order to Spacelabs Healthcare to upgrade patient monitoring systems across 19 departments at the Memphis VA Medical Center. The project involves replacing 170 pieces of equipment, including various monitor models, with newer Xprezzon, Xhibit, and Qube systems, along with associated accessories and installation services. The estimated cost for this upgrade, including trade-in credits, is not to exceed 5 million dollars. This procurement is designated as a sole source to maintain consistency with existing Spacelabs proprietary software and IT infrastructure, specifically the Intesys Clinical Suite and its integration with the Computerized Patient Records System. By utilizing a single manufacturer, the facility aims to avoid increased administrative costs, installation delays, and risks to patient care associated with retraining medical and bio-med engineering staff on a different system. The government sought to complete these upgrades before September 30, 2019.
