The Department of Veterans Affairs is conducting a market research effort through a Sources Sought Announcement to identify qualified businesses capable of providing a new Nurses Call System for the Temple and Waco VA medical facilities. This announcement is not a solicitation for proposals or quotes and does not obligate the government to award a contract. The objective is to gather information to support acquisition planning for a system that will assess and replace the existing nurse call systems in multiple clinical units across both locations. Vendors responding are required to submit information about their company, business type, and a capability statement outlining their qualifications and experience with nurse call system installations, repairs, and services, particularly within government healthcare settings such as the VA or DOD. Responses are limited to five pages and must be submitted in writing by March 22, 2013. Interested vendors are encouraged to attend an Industry Day scheduled for April 10 and 11, 2013, at the Temple and Waco facilities respectively, where they will have the opportunity to demonstrate their systems, showcasing features such as nurse call integration, patient wander monitoring, decentralized communication options, bedside functionality, and compatibility with specialized equipment like Hill-Rom beds. The scope of work involves evaluating existing infrastructure, installing and programming the new system, and removing old equipment across specified units totaling over 300 beds. The system must include central logging, reporting capabilities, various pull station types, breakaway pillow speakers, and comprehensive training for end users and maintenance staff. While this announcement seeks detailed vendor input, the government is not responsible for any costs related to responses and makes no commitment to a future solicitation or contract award. The anticipated solicitation, if issued, will follow within 30 to 45 days after the Industry Day events.
