The Veterans Integrated Service Network 6 (VISN 6), intends to negotiate a sole source procurement under the authority of 38 U.S.C. 8153 and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, with American Red Cross - Blood Services, Mid-Atlantic Region, 611 W. Brambleton Avenue, Norfolk, VA, for an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for blood and blood products. In emergent situations, the Contractor will be available 24 hours per day, seven days a week, for pick-up within 30-60 minutes from the time requested. The Contractor will be licensed with the FDA, Department of Health, Education and Welfare (pursuant to Section 510 of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, 21 U.S.C. Section 260). NAICS for this solicitation is 621991 with a size standard of $9 million. The Contract period will be from April 1, 2009 through March 31, 2010.
