The Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract with W. L. Gore for the purchase of the Gore Viabahn Endoprosthesis, a piece of equipment necessary for applying FDA-approved skin grafts. The government has determined that only W. L. Gore can meet the agency’s requirements and plans to proceed under the authority of FAR 13.106(b)(3)(i), which allows for non-competitive procurement. Although the contract will be negotiated solely with this vendor, other interested parties may submit information demonstrating their ability to meet the requirement by September 27, 2007. Such submissions will only be used to assess whether the procurement should remain non-competitive, and no formal solicitation will be issued. Responses or inquiries must be sent via email to the designated contract specialist, Dara Greene, by the stated deadline. The government reserves the right to decide unilaterally whether to open competition based on the information received. This action is part of a procurement process classified under NAICS code 339113, related to surgical and medical instrument manufacturing.
