Page 4 of 4 Notice of Intent to Sole Source Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 10, Northern Indiana VAHCS, 1700 East 38th St Marion, IN 46953, intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source for Blood Products and reference lab testing. The associated NAICS code for this is 621991. The vendor will be The American National Red Cross, 431 18th Street, Washington, DC 20006. Description of Equipment or Supplies Added to Current Contract: This procurement is for blood, blood components, and reference lab testing for the VA Northern Indiana health Care System. The American National Red Cross has been the vendor for blood products and reference testing services for this facility for many years. Their proximity to the VA Medical Center s current location provides the required turnaround time (within 2 hours) for both blood products and service requests and makes courier services more cost-effective.
