AI Contract Overview
The Department of Veterans Affairs, through its Network Contracting Office 22, has issued a sources-sought notice to identify qualified suppliers capable of providing autoclavable laparoscopes under NAICS code 339112, with a size standard of 1,000 employees. The requirement is for six units of a specific model: 5.4mm diameter, 0-degree lens, 30cm length, capable of real-time high-definition imaging, and fully autoclavable. The notice is strictly for market research purposes and does not constitute a solicitation, contract, or commitment to award; any future procurement will be announced separately on SAM or GSA eBuy. The VA is evaluating whether to set aside the eventual solicitation for certified Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB) or Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) registered in the VetBiz.gov database, pursuant to 38 U.S.C. §8127, pending the outcomes of this preliminary outreach. Responses must include business size certifications, manufacturing status, DUNS numbers, and disclosures regarding affiliation or nonmanufacturer rules, including whether the respondent exceeds the 500-employee threshold for nonmanufacturers or supplies products made by small business manufacturers. The primary place of performance is the VA San Diego Healthcare System in California, with secondary delivery potential to the VA Long Beach Healthcare System. Inquiries must be submitted in writing via email to the designated Contract Specialist by April 29, 2026, at 10:00 AM PT, and no reimbursement will be provided for costs incurred in submitting responses. No formal contract clauses, evaluation factors, pricing, delivery schedules, or packaging standards are included, as this is a pre-solicitation activity designed solely to determine industry capacity and eligibility for potential set-asides.
