Full Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to solicit and negotiate a Sole Source, Firm-Fixed-Price Purchase Order with the large business manufacturer Steris. The procurement is for Washer/Disinfectors (W/D). The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 339113. AMSCO 7053HP Washer/Disinfector, Steam heated. The W/Ds are used wash and disinfect all surgical Instrumentation that can withstand the High Temperatures cleaning process. This process renders Surgical Instruments safe for Sterile Processing Service (SPS) staff to handle and assemble Instrument sets in preparation for Sterilization. The VA s SPS falls under VHA Directive1116(2) dated 23 March 2016, which includes specific requirements for the standardization of equipment types and for ensuring that reprocessing requirements are met. This Directive applies anywhere sterile processing or High-Level Disinfection (HFD) occurs in VA facilities. As such, this procurement is limited to one source in accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(2) Soliciting from a Single Source, as no other supplies with satisfy the Agency s requirement. The anticipated award date: August 2, 2021. This requirement is for: Department of Veterans Affairs Seattle VAMC Puget Sound Healthcare System 1660 S. Columbian Way Seattle, WA 98108 This notice satisfies the requirement at FAR 5.201(b)(1), to publicize the proposed contract action. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation will be made available. Any responses received will only be considered for the purposes of determining the marketplace for future procurements. The Government will not pay for information submitted. This will be the only notice of the Government's intent to solicit, negotiate, and award to one source to satisfy this requirement.
