The Erie, PA VA Medical Center Surgical Department is seeking to procure reusable orthopedic surgical instruments, specifically Aspen Surgical Symmetry brand or equivalent, to support its Total Joint Initiative aimed at expanding in-house shoulder, knee, and hip replacement surgeries. This initiative is focused on enhancing comprehensive orthopedic care for Veterans, increasing surgical capacity, and reducing dependency on community providers. The instruments must be compatible with existing standardized surgical platforms, sterilization processes, and operating room protocols already in place at the facility. The required instruments include various osteotomes, elevators, retractors, curettes, forceps, drivers, rongeurs, and mallets, all designed for repeated use in a high-volume surgical environment. The instruments must meet strict functional and dimensional equivalence to the Aspen Surgical Symmetry brand standards, ensuring performance in bone cutting, manipulation, retraction, and malleation during total joint procedures. Constructed from surgical-grade stainless steel, they must comply with FDA, AAMI, and VA regulations for reusable surgical tools, and be compatible with the Erie VA Medical Center’s sterilization methods, including steam sterilization and ultrasonic cleaning. Delivery is required within 30 days after receipt of order, FOB destination, to the Erie VA Medical Center Distribution Center. Security and privacy requirements are minimal, and no vendor onsite presence or certification is needed. The solicitation is managed by the Department of Veterans Affairs, with a response deadline in April 2026.
