The Department of Veterans Affairs, through its Network Contracting Office 8 in Tampa, Florida, awarded a sole-source contract to GEO-MED, LLC for the acquisition of the Biosense Webster CARTO® 3 System, valued at $597,210.92, to update cardiac mapping capabilities at the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center in Bay Pines, Florida. The procurement was justified due to the proprietary nature of the CARTO® 3 System and its associated software modules, including ConfiDense, CartoReplay™, PASO™, VISITAG Surpoint™, and others, which are only available through the original equipment manufacturer or its authorized representative, leaving no viable competitive alternatives.
