The Department of Veterans Affairs, through Network Contract Office 8, intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed price contract to Covidien Sales LLC for the acquisition, installation, training, and annual maintenance of the Medtronic Situate Detection System X, which includes the Situate Console X, Body Scanner Lite, Room Scanner X, and the Complete Care Service Plan for VISN 8 medical centers. The contract will include a twelve-month base period with four additional twelve-month option periods for ongoing service coverage, ensuring uninterrupted support for the integrated retained surgical item detection system. The system must perform automated non-handheld under-patient RF scanning, handheld environmental RF scanning, provide workflow guidance for standardized clinical use, verify scans, document findings in patient records, and include manufacturer-supported maintenance and technical assistance. Submissions must include detailed technical specifications, FDA clearance documentation, descriptions of patient and environmental scanning methodologies, workflow and verification features, installation and training plans, preventive maintenance capabilities, warranty terms, and evidence of compliance with trade requirements. General marketing materials or unsubstantiated claims of equivalency will not be accepted. This notice is for informational purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation; no RFQ or RFP has been issued. The government will not reimburse costs associated with preparing submissions, and all communication must be conducted via email. Inquiries via phone are not permitted.
