The Department of Veterans Affairs has entered into a contract with Siemens Industry, Inc. for the purchase and replacement of a 1.5T MRI Chiller serving the Siemens Aera Tesla MRI at the St. Louis VA Medical Center (John Cochran). This single source award, valued at 197,002.00 dollars under solicitation 36C25521P0447, was justified by the proprietary nature of the equipment and its criticality to patient care. The project includes the procurement and installation of one MotivAir 2200-A-MPC-SP chiller and one Siemens Healthineers 14470829 Separator Cabinet, along with all necessary connections and fittings. The contractor is responsible for providing all parts and labor, including the reclamation of refrigerant, disposal of the existing KKT chiller, flushing the chilling loop, and performing all necessary hoisting, rigging, and electrical upgrades. To minimize impacts on patient care, the removal of the old unit and delivery of the new equipment must occur outside of normal business hours, while other installation activities will take place Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm. The scope of work concludes with a factory start-up and operational check of the system, supported by a one-year manufacturer warranty covering all parts and labor.
