The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Healthcare System, VISN 11 Contracting Activity plans to award a sole source contract for the rental of a Bariatric Tri-Flex Air bed measuring 48 inches, specifically to Hill-Rom, Inc., a large business located in Batesville, Indiana. This contract, associated with NAICS code 339113, will be awarded under Simplified Acquisition Procedures using FAR Part 6.302-1 authority, citing that only one responsible source can fulfill the requirement. The anticipated contract will be firm fixed price with no option years and reflects the government’s determination that only Hill-Rom, Inc. possesses the technical capability to meet this urgent need. This Notice of Intent to Sole Source is not a solicitation or request for proposal but serves as an announcement of the impending exclusive negotiation.
