36C25021Q0919 SPECIAL NOTICE NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Tonometers The Cleveland Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, 10701 East Blvd Cleveland, OH 44106 intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.1061(b)(1)-Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. The NAICS code is 334510 with a small business size standard of 1250. The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with MellingMedical 658 South Columbus Street Alexandria, VA 22314. VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System, Chillicothe Ohio is soliciting eleven (11) iCare Tonometers. The iCare ic100 tonometer is a handheld tonometer used in everyday eye care. It is used to measure the intraocular pressure during eye exams. This handheld device is used for multiple patient types including routine patients, patients with mobility issues, and other patients who cannot fit behind a slit lamp. This is the only contact tonometer that does not require topical ocular anesthetic. iCare is the only manufacturer of this type of tonometer. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by Friday July 16, 2021 at 2PM EST. Such capabilities information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. - All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
