NOTICE OF INTENT

This is a notice of intent to solicit from a single source.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) intends to award a purchase order to RieglUSA in Winter Garden, Florida for a 3D laser scanner with the following Salient Characteristics:

Required Salient Characteristics
• Range and Data Collection Speed:
o Provides a range of 900 meters at 20% reflectivity at 300 kHz.
o Provides a range of 400 meters at 20% reflectivity at 1,200 kHz.
o Provides a range of 360 meters at 20% reflectivity at 1,200 kHz.
• Multiple Returns per Laser Pulse:
o Collects five or more returns per outgoing laser pulse.
o Provides online waveform processing for vegetation and similar conditions at a range of 150 meters.
• Horizontal Field of View:
o Provides a 360-degree rotational field of view (FOV).
• Vertical Field of View:
o Provides a vertical FOV greater than 100 degrees.
• Angle Measurement Resolution:
o Provides an angle measurement resolution of no more than 0.0007 degrees (2.5 arcseconds).
• Accuracy:
o Provides measurement accuracy of 5 mm or better.

Award will be made in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) procedures at FAR Part 12 entitled, Acquisition of Commercial Items. Innovasea Marine Systems Canada Inc. is, to the knowledge of the USGS, the only source who can provide this proprietary equipment that is compatible with existing systems.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all responsible parties may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. No solicitation will be issued. A determination not to compete this action based upon responses received is in the sole discretion of the Government.

The NAICS code 334516 Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, and PSC 6675 DRAFTING, SURVEYING, AND MAPPING INSTRUMENTS apply to this announcement.
