Contract SPRBL113R0043 is a sole-source, firm-fixed-price award issued by the Department of Defense through the DLA Land At Aberdeen for the procurement of automatic pilot mechanisms and airborne gyro components. Specifically, the contract covers a spot buy of 500 CN-1314A/(A) Displacement Gyroscopes, which are critical components used in CH-47 Chinook and UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters. The procurement is categorized under NAICS code 334511 and was processed as an award notice in May 2014. Subsequent updates to the Justification and Approval documentation included an increase in the total estimated contract value to account for material cost escalations and adjustments to the option quantities for the gyroscopes. The acquisition method suffix code was also updated to reflect the sole manufacturer status of the vendor.
