66--Notice of Intent for Sole Source; Con Focal Microscopy System Upgrade

Pursuant to FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), the U.S. Army, MEDCOM, Western Regional Contracting Office(WRCO), Tacoma, WA, intends to issue a sole source award to Nikon Instruments Inc. in the amount of $35,043.00 to upgrade the existing Con Focal Microscopy System located at Madigan Healthcare Systems, Tacoma, WA. The Con Focal Microscopy System will be used at the Department of Clinical Investigation for projects needing data collection and evaluation. Updating the system ensures current and future methodologies can be accomplished and the amount of volume data collected can be evaluated and stored. This notice is not a request for proposal and no solicitation will be issued. Any firm that believes it can provide the stated supplies/equipment is invited to submit a written notification to WRCO within three (3) calendar days from the date of publication of this notice. Supporting information must be furnished to demonstrate the firm's ability to provide the stated supply/equipment. Information can be sent to the Purchasing Agent; Ms. Ruby Mejias, contact@example.gov. No telephone or facsimile requests will be accepted. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, WRCO will proceed with the sole source award. This procurement will be prepared in accordance with FAR Part 13, using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
