66--Notice of Intent to Sole Source

The ERDC Contracting Office plans to award a sole source contract to Trimble Navigation Limited for procurement of the Trimble R8 Rover, Trimble TSC2 data logger, Trimble R8 base station, and related software. These items are identified as commercial products and Trimble is considered the only known source capable of providing this specific equipment. The acquisition will be conducted under FAR part 12 and awarded based on the authority of FAR 13.501 without full and open competition, pending any capability submissions from other interested organizations. Interested parties have the opportunity to submit their qualifications and capabilities in writing by 3:00 p.m. CST on June 29, 2009. These submissions will be reviewed solely to determine whether to proceed with a competitive procurement. The government retains full discretion to decide against competitive bidding based on the responses. Communication for this notice must be written, with no oral responses accepted, and no formal Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued following this notice. Interested organizations should direct their information for consideration to the designated government contact, referencing the specified solicitation number.
