The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 15, plans to award a sole source contract to Baxter Healthcare Corporation for the purchase of three continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) units. This procurement is driven by an unusual and compelling urgency due to the increasing number of critically ill patients with acute kidney injury (AKI), a trend intensified by the COVID-19 pandemic.
