The Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis plans to sole source the purchase of disposable ventilated cage and rack systems from Innovive LLC, a small business based in San Diego. These systems are specifically designed for housing laboratory rats and mice, with a crucial requirement for disposable caging due to the absence of cage-washing facilities at the medical center. The selection of Innovive ensures compatibility with the existing caging systems on site, allowing for efficient use of storage space and continuity in the housing infrastructure. The procurement includes several units of individually ventilated racks for mice and rats, wire bars, fuse kits, and crates necessary for the racks. The contract emphasizes that only new Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) goods will be accepted, prohibiting any remanufactured or gray market items to maintain quality and warranty standards. The vendor must be an authorized OEM dealer or reseller, providing all associated warranties and software licensing according to OEM terms. The VA reserves the right to enforce contractual remedies if noncompliant goods are delivered. While this is an intent to sole source, capable vendors may submit capability statements by the specified deadline, though the government reserves the right to proceed without competition. The solicitation is managed by the Department of Veterans Affairs with contact designated for vendor inquiries.
